Laurie Guyon currently serves as the Lead Coordinator for Instructional Technology Programs at WSWHE BOCES, where she guides regional initiatives and supports schools in adopting innovative educational practices, particularly in Computer Science and Digital Fluency. In addition, Laurie is the Capital Region Director for NYSCATE, advocating for educators and technology integration across New York State. Laurie is an Adjunct Professor at Manhattanville University, teaching two courses on effective methods for teaching computer science. She is the author of SMILE Learning: Leveraging the Power of Educational Technology and has co-authored several influential books: ArchiTech: Laying the Foundation of EdTech Coaching with Aimee Bloom, Access First with Jennifer Harriton-Wilson, and SMILE Factor with Matthew X Joseph. She also brings a lighthearted touch to educational themes, helping with problem-solving and critical-thinking concepts in her children's book, Put the Pickles In The Dishwasher.Laurie co-hosts the SMILE Factor podcast with Matthew X. Joseph, exploring how to foster joy around educational technology and educational leadership. Her commitment to the field has earned her recognition, including the prestigious ISTE 20 to Watch award, the SAANYS Leader in Digital Education award, and the CoSN Emerging EdTech Leader recognition.
